Hannah

I am a UK trained, outstanding KS1 and KS2 primary trained teacher, with experience teaching all year groups within the primary phase. I am an outstanding practitioner with a track record of supporting pupils to make exceptional progress across all subjects. I am currently an assistant headteacher, class teacher and special educational needs co-ordinator at an inner-city London school. I am in my seventh year of teaching and have previously worked in both private and local authority schools. I have a masters in leadership alongside a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leaders from the Institute of Education.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently an assistant headteacher, working at a school in North London, teaching a key stage 2 class as well a providing specialist support for pupils with special educational needs. I have 6 years of tutoring experience including supporting KS1/KS2 SATS, 11+ tuition, as well as providing tutoring support for children with special educational needs. I have experience working with a wide variety of children including those who are greater depth, have additional needs or have english as an additional language.

I understand that pupils may struggle to make progress in class due to a number of reasons and my philosophy is that all pupils should gain confidence in my sessions in order for them to make accelerated progress at their individual level. For those who are more able, I have a proven track record of pushing them to reach their full potential, with many passing entrance exams into grammar schools.

My role as a special educational needs co-ordinator has allowed me to develop in-depth knowledge to support pupils with a range of additional needs such as autism and dyslexia. In addition, I can support parents to understand the needs of their child and how best to support them at home with their learning.

Tutoring Approach

Confidence building is a core aspect of my approach, in order for pupils to reach their full potential. I strongly believe that sessions should be engaging and interactive in order to motivate children to want to learn and I will therefore use a range of teaching strategies to motivate and inspire them. I am happy to teach in one or two hour slots, splitting sessions between Maths and English work if appropriate. I am able to tutor both weekends and weekday evenings depending on which days are required.
