Hannah

I am a friendly and experienced primary school teacher with 5 years of classroom experience. I am passionate about helping young learners grow in confidence and develop their skills in a supportive and engaging way. I am organised, patient, and love to bring a sense of humour to my teaching. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, travelling and embroidery.

As I continue to teach full time, in term time, my availability is limited to Saturdays and weekday evenings only.

Tutoring Experience

After gaining Qualified Teacher Status in 2020, I have taught a range of year groups, with particular experience in Year 2 and Year 3. This has given me a strong understanding of how foundational skills in phonics and maths are introduced in KS1 and developed further in KS2 to help children make steady and confident progress through the curriculum. I offer tailored tutoring in English and Maths for children in Years 1 to 4. Whether it’s building fluency in number bonds and the four operations, improving sentence structure and paragraph writing, or supporting reading comprehension and phonics, I can adapt sessions to suit your child’s individual needs.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that learning should be enjoyable and that every child can make progress with the right support and encouragement. My approach begins with an initial assessment to understand your child’s current level and identify any gaps in their learning. From there, I plan fun, engaging sessions using games, practical activities, and targeted exercises that suit their individual needs. I often use the “I do, we do, you do” method to gradually move children from guided instruction to independent work. This scaffolding helps build understanding and confidence, allowing children to succeed step by step.
