I am passionate about my job as a primary teacher and I am always striving to be the best for my students. I try to incorporate hands on teaching experiences that will place the work in a real life context. This gives more purpose to the child’s learning and make it more worth while for them.

Tutoring Experience

I have carried out supply work whilst completing my Masters degree at The university of Glasgow. This required me to teach across the different stages within a school.

I have completed training within SEAL maths and Phonics International which have key benefits in improving confidence within the subjects.

Tutoring Approach

I like to understand my students needs, their particular strengths and areas for improvement. I teach the topic in the best possible way to match their learning needs. The key is for them to understand the topic by linking to something which they previously know. This shows the children the learning in a real world context which makes it more meaningful for them.

It is vital for students to truly get excited about the subject so by using real life examples, they can remember concepts more easily. I believe in going through problems with the students first and showing a clear example, then allowing them to practise until they understand and can do the problems independently. Finally, I always listen to the children and exactly what they require so I can adapt my approach.
