My past job role as a health care assistant looking after kids and adults with learning disabilities has given me a broad knowledge about people, emotional and mental development of kids/ adults. This general understanding is important for teaching.
Between February 2018 and April 2018 I spent time as a lecture assistant in Liverpool John Moores University. I worked with students with learning disabilities, assisting the lecturers with every lesson including lesson planning. The contrast between this university and my private tutoring sessions I worked in, is significant – I found that a greater variety of techniques of teaching were used across ability brackets than I expected.
I finished my high school with good grades in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Economics. And with my past job experience and educational background, I am now confident that I can teach maths and other science subjects to kids/adults of any age range. I would be able to teach Maths, Physics, and Chemistry to the depth at which it becomes the most interesting and enlightening.
As a PhD candidate and part-time maths teacher, I use a variety of learning techniques mixed with my good sense of humour to make learning interesting. I am approachable, friendly and honest,I believe these personal qualities will make the teaching and learning more comfortable to suit my students.
