With over 25 years of experience as a mathematics teacher, I bring a deep understanding of both the subject and how students learn. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with learners of all abilities, helping them build confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve success in mathematics - from foundational skills to higher GCSE topics. My years in the classroom have taught me how to explain complex ideas in clear, accessible ways, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and engage with the subject. As a tutor, I draw on this wealth of experience to provide focused, individualized support that helps students thrive both academically and personally.
I have been teaching maths for over 25 years from Birmingham to Brighton, London to Luton and beyond. I have taught from middle / prep school to higher GCSE level.
My approach to tutoring focuses on building resilience through a supportive, growth-minded environment where mistakes are seen as essential learning opportunities. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and explore different methods to deepen their understanding. Alongside this, I introduce effective memorisation strategies, such as spaced repetition, retrieval practice, and mnemonics to help students retain key concepts and formulas with confidence.
