Hi, I'm a former Assistant Headteacher now working in education recruitment, but my passion for supporting young people remains strong. That’s why I continue to tutor—helping children build confidence and strengthen their understanding in maths and English.
With years of leadership and classroom experience behind me, I know how to create a supportive and engaging environment where learners feel encouraged to succeed.
Outside of work, I’m a proud husband and dad to a fantastic son. I am/was a big fan of the Worcester Warriors and Liverpool FC, enjoy watching baseball, and like to stay active by hitting the gym when I can.
With over 11 years of experience in primary education, I’ve taught across all year groups from Reception to Year 6 and covered every core subject. I bring a deep understanding of how children learn and how best to support them in a way that’s engaging, personalised, and effective.
I’ve taught in both small village schools (as few as 80 pupils) and large urban schools (up to 630 pupils), giving me a broad perspective on different learning environments. My teaching journey has taken me across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and Birmingham, allowing me to work with children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
Before teaching in the UK, I spent 9 months in China teaching learners from Kindergarten through to adults—an enriching experience that further developed my flexibility and communication skills.
As a tutor, I’ve supported children aged 4–11 in both maths and English, helped students successfully prepare for private school entrance exams, and provided English language support for adult learners. I’m passionate about helping every learner grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
My teaching approach strikes a balance between clear instruction and fun, hands-on opportunities to apply new learning. I create a relaxed, encouraging environment where children feel confident to try, make mistakes, and grow. By keeping sessions engaging and offering consistent praise, I help boost learners' self-esteem—often the key to unlocking faster, more meaningful progress.
