Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.
I grew up in Norfolk and lived in Brighton where I studied English Literature before moving to London to work for a Social Integration charity. For the last 6 years I have been setting up and running socially inclusive summer programmes for 15-17 year olds.
In my spare time I volunteer, teaching English to refugees. I am also a keen film fan and enjoy reading both fiction and non fiction.
I love to visit other countries so that I can get to know different cultures and languages. I have visited many countries in Europe and have also visited Indonesia, Costa Rica and Mexico. I lived in Tanzania for a short time with the International Citizen Service.
My experience is mainly in teaching young people, although I am happy teaching adults too!
I have 1 years experience teaching English in the UK to mixed nationality groups. I have also taught 121 at the Migrant English Project, focusing on practical language for life and work. In addition to this I briefly tutored for IELTS (2 months) and have recently been working with young refugees.
I have a lot of experience in personal development as I have been managing a team of 6 for the last 2 years. I am confident in working with you to understand exactly what they wish to achieve and in setting realistic goals and milestones to mark their progress.
Fostering individual growth and encouraging exploration, I place focus on helping people achieve their goals in learning English. Using knowledge gained through a CELTA, English teaching and 6 years of youth work I have strong, engaging and inclusive facilitation skills.
I ensure that you have a say in your lessons, both in topic and content.
I want to hear what you think of the lessons to so that I can ensure that they are the best that they can be and are tailored to your individual needs
