Gordon

Gordon

For most of my working life I have been involved in helping people. As well as education, I worked for six years in a retirement home, two years as manager of a mental health day centre and also a year as a residential social worker in a children's home. Away from teaching I play traditional folk music in a band (I also teach it). I am interested in history, mythology and folklore, and enjoy science fiction books and films.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked in education for over twenty years, as a lecturer, tutor or researcher. I have worked in further, higher, adult and prison education, as well privately tutoring music and English learners.

Tutoring Approach

My 'approach' is really more of an attitude: I like to create a relaxed, friendly and encouraging learning environment, whilst simultaneously communicating (I hope) a passion for learning.
