I am an experienced ex Head of Geography and have taught at large comprehensive and independent schools in the East Midlands. I am based in Ashby de la Zouch and offer tutoring to students looking for help with their studies and exam courses.
I am able to provide additional support to school lessons as well as teach full course content for students needing to review whole topics or courses. I am friendly and patient and quickly get to know my students and how best they work and need help. I really enjoy working with students and helping them to achieve their best in geography

Tutoring Experience

Tutees consistently achieve the GCSE and A’Level grades they need to progress successfully.
I have successfully taught up to Alevel/GCSE Geography and Geology for 27 years across a range of exam boards- Edexcel, AQA, Eduqas. I have 20 years examination experience marking GCSE and A’Level papers with AQA.

Tutoring Approach

I have a wealth of experience guiding pupils through the exam process by developing their subject knowledge, focusing on both content and exam skills. I believe students progress best when they feel comfortable and confident. I am patient and friendly and build excellent relationships with the students I work with. I cater for the needs of each individual student and adapt lessons and resources to best help them. This is completed through a range of activities and learning experiences such as practice exam questions, modelling and revision techniques to ensure all pupils achieve their very best.
