Hi, I’m Georgina, I’m a Mum and teacher from Essex. I am a charismatic and engaging teacher and leader, with a passion for inspiring learners.
I have over 10 years experience teaching in primary schools, as well as 9 years experience in tutoring on a 1:1 basis. In February 2014 I was given an 'Outstanding' grading from OFSTED for my in-class teaching. The school in which I worked as a Phase Leader for year groups 5 and 6 was also given an 'Outstanding' grading. The Year 6 children in my phase were in the top 1% of childen in the country for the progress that they made in their last two years of primary school. I am currently working as an education consultant, supporting and improving teaching across London and surrounding areas.
I’ve worked in several boroughs and have experience working with many different styles of teaching and learning. Therefore I am very aware of what good progress looks like and, with co-operation from the student and their family (this is important), how to achieve this in a short amount of time, including at a secondary level. My GCSE English student recently managed to go from being a predicted grade D in July 2021 to achieving an A in her final GCSE in 2022. This is because I adapt my teaching to the individual needs and interests of the learner. This enables the learner to reach their full potential at a faster rate.
I like to make learning fun, engaging and fast paced in order to maintain a high level of interest from my students. I also try where possible to use a considerable amount of positive reinforcement and praise in order to build confidence and engage them further. I’m friendly and take great pride in my work and seeing my students do well. Please feel free to message me for enquiries or if you simply have a question about tutoring, teaching or learning that you would like to find out the answer to.
