Hi! I’m Gina, I am a recent graduate from Durham University where I studied Arabic and Spanish. I am also a bilingual French speaker. I have a huge passion for languages and cultures and for helping others on their own language-learning journeys.

Tutoring Experience

I taught Spanish, German and French up to GCSE level whilst I was studying for my A-Levels. Whilst at university I have been volunteering as an English tutor to refugees who have recently arrived in the UK.

Tutoring Approach

I adapt my teaching style to each student; if a student is more advanced I prefer conversation-based teaching as it enables the learner to get as much practise as possible. For beginners and intermediates I like to focus on using new vocabulary and grammar in context - through conversation or writing, reading practice etc. - as this improves memory retention. However, I can adapt to the students’ needs and wishes and what I think would most benefit their level.
