I am a qualified teacher, and have been working in education for 8 years. I have taught in schools across South London and have great success in accelerated progress for the young people I teach. I have particular skills in teaching young people with special educational needs and I possess the skills to support learning across a diverse range of needs.
Whilst teaching in schools, I was commended for the accelerated progress that young people in my class made.
I received my degree in History and Sociology in 2016. I have good knowledge of History and Sociology curriculums for secondary aged young people.
I am passionate about ensuring that young people access and engage in education, and ensure that my teaching practice responds to each young person’s individual needs.
Primary school teacher - 2018-2023
Teaching Asisstant - 2016-2018
Tutor - 2016-2020 - Secondary English and History (made better than expected progress - 1-2 grade increase)
I ensure that I build a positive relationship with the young people I tutor. I will understand their starting point, assess their strengths and areas to improve and work with them constructively to make progress.
I provide positive feedback on learning, and work with young people to identify their areas of improvement.
I have experience in working with young people who are disengaged or reluctant learners, and young people with special educational needs. I take time to learn their interests and tailor my teaching to ensure the best possible engagement.
