Hello! I'm a fully qualified secondary school English teacher with extensive experience helping students of all ages and abilities reach their full potential. I specialise in English Language and Literature, with in-depth knowledge of both the AQA and Eduqas exam boards.

I offer tailored tutoring from early primary (including phonics and early literacy skills) right through to A-Level, supporting learners at every stage of their academic journey. I'm also highly experienced in working with SEND students, adapting lessons to suit individual needs and learning styles.

Tutoring Experience

I have several years of classroom experience and over seven years of one-to-one tutoring experience, working across both secondary and primary settings. Throughout my career, I've supported a diverse range of students, from early readers learning phonics to EAL students right up to A-Level candidates preparing for final exams. I’m well-versed in the demands of the AQA and Eduqas specifications, as well as the latest primary and secondary curricula, and have successfully guided students through GCSEs with targeted, results-driven support. My background also includes working closely with SEND learners, creating inclusive and differentiated resources that help every student thrive, regardless of ability or background.

My approach is student-centered, flexible, and grounded in building confidence in English as well as competence. I take the time to understand each learner’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals, tailoring lessons to suit their individual needs. Whether it's breaking down complex units (poetry, key texts, language analysis), reinforcing key skills, or preparing for assessments, I aim to make learning accessible and engaging. I create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks, helping them grow not just academically, but in self-belief too.
