My name is Gareth and I am a Head of House and Teacher of Science at a secondary school just outside of Cambridge.
I have been teaching for 6 years, teaching up to GCSE in AQA Combined Science (both Higher and Foundation; Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and AQA Chemistry (Separate Science), as well as OCR A Chemistry at A Level.
Having 3 Combined Science groups last academic year (Higher and Foundation), all 3 teaching groups received positive residual on average (meaning each student received higher than national average grades from their targets). This included some students receiving more than 4 grades above target within the groups.
I taught A Level Chemistry at my first school (in a more deprived area) as a part of the OCR A specification; we had a student receive an A*, and several receiving a grade A, which was a fantastic result for the students and a result of all the hard work they put in.
We can look at any topic within the curriculum you see fit or want help with. We will go over the content with smaller tasks, then look at exam questions, talking through what the question actually wants you to put down.
I specialise in the Quantitative Chemistry topic (C3), with particular focus on moles within the topic.
