It is an enormous pleasure to find new and exciting ways to teach English that help the student to achieve their goals.
I have:
University of Cambridge ESOL Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) at the higher B Grade.
University of Cambridge ESOL Level 4 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) (this is the qualification needed to teach in further education colleges)
BA (Hons) English Literature and History
MA Children's Literature
I have completed Continuing Professional Development courses at the Institute of Education, London for ESOL teaching skills in ‘speaking, listening, reading and writing’.
I teach adults i.e. 16+. I enjoy teaching Beginners, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper Intermediate
I have taught different levels of English to multi-lingual group of adults in a language department of a college as well as privately one-to-one. I taught Upper-Intermediate to European students within a language club in London for several years. Additionally, I taught refugees at beginner and Elementary level - both on a one-to-one in their homes and in small conversation groups. I have led English conversation walks to intermediate and above in different areas of London.
I prefer to teach online (I use SKYPE). This allows students from all over the world to participate.
I can teach in student’s home, place of work, cafés or other spaces (e.g. parks, interesting London buildings etc.) which is useful to further develop vocabulary, conversation skills and confidence.
If you are keen to learn English and want practice speaking to a native English speaker, I am sure that I can help you. Sometimes I will suggest that we spend our hour in a café or museum or a short walk in a park (if it isn’t raining, of course). This way, you will develop your vocabulary and conversation skills as well as enjoy different places in London.
