I am Biomedical sciences graduate and left school with 3As and a B, including As in Biology and History. Having recently completed my GCSEs and A-levels and tutored for over 2 years, I understand the content and believe I am well placed to offer teaching that can supplement your school studies.
I struggled myself at school. I was never in the top sets and it wasn't until my year 10 mock exams that I started to achieve somewhat decent grades. The thing that helped was having a dedicated tutor who tailored lessons to me. I started tutoring because I know how difficult it is to learn in school in large classes where you don't get the attention and help you need. Having that tutor has helped me in so many ways and I want to be able to give others that same opportunity to achieve whatever you want.
I have graduated from University with a 2:1 in Biomedical sciences, which has helped me develop multiple transferable skills as well as teaching/revision techniques. These can be applied to all of your school subjects to help boost your grades and improve your confidence.
I am passionate about the subjects I teach and cater my lessons to the student’s needs, using activities and methods I know are beneficial. I have a proven track record and would love to be able to help to you, reach your academic goals and your absolute best.
I began tutoring online back in 2022 while at University but it was not until early 2023 that I began tutoring more students. In November 2024 I began tutoring for a second online platform.
I tutor a range of subject from maths and sciences to humanities aswell as EPQ and personal statement support from a KS2 level up to A-level (for Biology and Chemistry only). I have experience tutoring students from the ages of 10/11 studying for their 11+ exams up to 20/21 year old mature students looking to retake A-levels to join University (and everything in between). I have over 2 years of tutoring experience and am familiar with majority of exam boards. I initial started off with tutoring just AQA as this is the exam board I did at school, but I now offer Edexcel (A and B), OCR A and B and most recently WJEC (which I started tutoring last year). There is some overlap between the exam boards and am happy to adapt to new exam boards. I am always up for a challenge.
Every student is different and so are my lessons. They are very flexible depending on what you need and what works for you. Before starting I will take time to understand your strengths and weaknesses and make a specialised lesson plan with goals to measure progress. My lessons can range from teaching and reinforcing content using presentations to practicing exam technique using past exam questions. Some lessons will be structured and content based where I lead the lesson, others will be more of a discussion where we explore different concepts and maybe led by you. But they are always interactive, engaging and centred around you!
If something doesn't work, we make changes and try again until we find something that works for you!
