I am a motivated and enthusiastic tutor, recently graduated from a history and philosophy masters at the University of Cambridge and looking to inspire others in learning. I am friendly and approachable and love continuing my own learning. For my 'day job' I work in heritage at Kew Gardens which is also an exciting educational environment. My hobbies include kickboxing, reading, arts and crafts and spending time with animals.
I have a combined 3 years of school-based teaching experience in teaching assistant and learning support roles. I have considerable experience in working with students with SEND and other learning accessibility requirements. I have worked in mainstream schools, a Steiner school (set in the grounds of an organic farm) and a Pupil Referral Unit (for students at risk of exclusion). I have a good working knowledge and understanding of the variety of difficulties individual students face and I make sure to identify and work with these in mind in my teaching.
I am patient and calm and work with a tailored understanding of challenges that each student faces. My approach is student-led and teach tutoring session will be created based on the needs of my student. I form my teaching approach to each student after an initial conversation about what difficulties the student is experiencing and/or what they aim to achieve with my help.
