Music Tuition in Merton

For the last 15 years I have been playing guitar and have been interested in the wonderous world of music.
Starting out in the rock and metal world, I quickly discovered an interest in other genres such as jazz, bossa nova and folk.

In the last years, I have been playing for a variety of artists (signed, unsigned tribute artists) and in a range of styles (Jazz (Fusion), Pop, Blues, RnB, Art-Rock Folktronica).

Besides guitar, I have a strong interest in music technology especially guitar pedals and modular synthesizers.

Tutoring Approach

Learning about music and your respective instrument should be mainly about playing and creatively engaging with music and musicians.

Regardless of level and whatever your personal music goals and interests are, we will work on it together.

For total beginners I have a detailed lesson plans where we work from understanding basic and intermediate music theory and applying it on the guitar. Your learning tempo sets the pace of the classes, so no rush! We will always revise the material we have learned and gradually apply it in many practical settings.

For more advanced players, we will go through any musical questions, difficulties or interests you might have. Playing is where understanding begins, together we will develop and solidify your:

  • picking techniques, either with pick or finger (or both!);
  • harmony and composition understanding;
  • improvisation techniques and ideas;
  • soloing ideas and techniques in a variety of genres;
  • reading notation and sheet music.

Above topics are just the tip of the musical iceberg, there a so many wonderous things to learn!

Do you have aspirations to work as a musician or a guitarist, now or later? You want to apply for a music university or do an audition? Lets get into the woodshed and start building towards your future!
