Hello students and parents!
I am a graduate from the University of Hull and have achieved a degree in Chemistry. I am committed and willing to help other students achieve their goals and guide them to get the best results that they deserve. A challenging environment allows me to stay motivated and committed and allows me to produce the best outcomes of my work. Having an extensive knowledge in Biology and Chemistry, i would love to share my knowledge and studying approach with other students!
I have previous experience in helping improve the results of year 7 students in Maths and English in my spare time, tutoring them in a friendly and approachable manner. I would also love to help other students improve their grades and have the future they deserve. With the right amount of motivation, dedication and encouragement, i believe students can achieve their desired grades and goals.
My approach of teaching involves reviewing all the weak points and working from the first point. This is done through highlighting the different taught chapters in different colours, which allows a visual representation of which areas need strengthening and which are the weak points. I pre-plan all lessons and materials needed for the student in advance to ensure full concentration and so no time is wasted.
Once these weaknesses are identified, these areas are ranked in orders of difficulty to allow me to see which area from these weaknesses needs extra attention, and therefore different types of explanation methods can be used, such as pictures or other step by step methods.
To further make sure the student has understood, i give homework and tests to recall their knowledge and depending on these results, i identify the errors and go about these thoroughly again. Another example of an approach used in my lessons is to ask the student to teach others (or myself) of what i have taught them to test their understanding.
As their tutor, it is my responsibility to provide them with homework, motivation and encourage them to do better.
It would be great to teach students subjects in which they require extra help and allow them to earn in a fun and approachable manner to allow learning to be considered as something fun and not always boring!
