French Lessons in Glasgow

I am an ethusiastic, friendly and encouraging fully qualified and GTCS registered Modern Languages teacher from Glasgow.

Having studied and worked abroad both during and following university, I am passionate about all things French and enjoy working with young people to help build their confidence and bring language learning to life!

I regularly return to France and I am always seeking to update and expand my knowledge in order to pass this on to those I teach.

Tutoring Experience

My undergraduate degree provided me with the opportunity to live and study in France, which not only immersed me in French culture, but gave me a unique experience of being a student and studying in a foreign language. This is something I regularly draw upon, allowing me to create compelling lessons for my students which considers language learning from the learners’ perspective. My lessons are differentiated and teaching methods are tailored to support the needs of individual students.

As a current French teacher, I have a sound knowledge of the curriculum through my experience of teaching all levels up to National 5 and assisting with Higher.

Tutoring Approach

Initially I work with the student to understand where they need the most support. My aim is to establish a positive working relationship with students in order to ensure that they feel comfortable and confident in raising any issues or areas of concern whilst we work.

Exam technique will be discussed and honed across all four skill areas of modern languages: reading, writing, talking and listening. My objective is to help students strengthen and improve the skills they feel need further development with, whilst maintaining and consolidating progress in areas they feel more confident with.

Teaching methods are tailored to suit each individual ensuring that longer term study methods are developed and that tutoring sessions are personalised.
