I am a 22 year old tutor based in beautiful Norwich! I am currently reading English Literature as an undergraduate at the University of East Anglia, and I am offering services in English Literature and Language, Sociology and History.
I have ten GCSEs, in which I achieved grades 8-5, with eights (A* equivalent) in English Literature, English Language, and History. I then went on to achieve three A-Levels at a top UK sixth form in Cambridge in English Literature, Sociology and History.
In terms of my hobbies and interests, I am a keen gym-goer as well as a crocheter (if you had told fifteen-year-old me I'd be spending my Friday nights as a twenty-two year old on a sofa with a crochet hook and yarn I would no doubt have been horrified!). I am a strong advocate for mental health, and appreciate how stressful academia can become. I pride myself on a pastoral approach in my teaching, and believe the mind will lead, and the rest shall follow!
I have previously worked in the SEND department of a secondary school, which provided invaluable experience to me as a tutor. I am able to deliver effective interventions, tailored to the student's individual needs. I have also
I have also achieved high grades in my own education, and I am capable of delivering the correct level of teaching for children of any level. I also have experience in creating resources suited to both tackling a student's areas of difficulties, as well as enhancing their strengths.
Whilst my experience is within secondary schools, I am confident in delivering materials and tutoring for all age groups, and I am more than happy to accept primary, secondary, and sixth-form aged students.
My teaching approach is a mixture of both student and teacher-led. I believe that the foundations for success lies within the student, and a teacher provides the tools for a student to realise their abilities.
I operate at a minimum of one hour of private tutoring per week, and a maximum of three hours.
Throughout my time in the education sector, I have seen first-hand the toll the stress of academia can take on students. I am a strong believer that each child is different, and requires an individual approach to unlock their full potential. I see the pastoral side of learning as imperative, and so I like to build up a trusting relationship with my students, so they feel able to bring worries and concerns surrounding academia to me.
