Maths and Physics Tuition in Hammersmith

Cambridge graduate professional tutor and examiner in Maths, Physics, Sciences - GCSE, A-level, etc

I’m here to help students unlock their full potential and achieve the very best grades and school/university places they can.

• I have seven years' tutoring experience
• I currently work for one of the UK's leading exam boards as an assessor (marker), which gives me great insight into how to achieve exam success
• I teach exam revision classes in schools

Perhaps your child is struggling in a subject and needs to boost their confidence, achievement and exam technique with some one-on-one support and motivation. Or perhaps they are doing well and would like someone to push them that extra bit further to obtain the skills and depth of understanding they will need to get onto the top university courses.

I am a professional tutor with a truly exceptional track record. Because this is my livelihood, your child's progress is my top priority. I am very friendly and develop good working relationships with my tutees and their parents. Around two thirds of my new students come through recommendations from previous families.

Let's talk about how we can work together to realise your goals!

Just a few of the comments from last month's results days:

I am an examiner for one of the main UK exam boards for GCSE and A level, so I have a great insight into what is required for exam success – from exam technique to the common mistakes to avoid. I have recently worked with Cambridge University Press as a writer on their resources for the new GCSE syllabus.

I have a permanent role with the Association for Science Education (ASE) developing school resources.

My background is in the film industry – on feature film production and most recently at the Film Fund at the BFI. I use my spare time to write.

I've now been tutoring full-time for eight years and have found I really enjoy it and achieve great results across a range of abilities, whether it's helping students move from Cs to Bs or from As to A*s (or 8s to 9s these days in GCSEs!).

Tutoring Approach

Every child is different; I pride myself in always finding a bespoke approach to my lessons to suit a particular student.

Often parents and students also ask for help with motivation, organisation and general approach to academic life – especially in exam years when discipline and revision are key. My role is not just supporting the student during our lesson, but giving them the tools and confidence to make the most of their school lessons, school homework, and revision.

Students tend to like, trust and respect me – and take advice from me that they wouldn't necessarily from their parents!

I am extremely patient and supportive, and very easy to get along with; my lessons are a space where students feel at ease to ask questions and get as much help and encouragement as they need. However, I also know from experience that students who give their best achieve their best – so I encourage and expect this from those I tutor.

With parents' permission, I will generally set homework in between my lessons to reinforce the learning.
