Maths Teacher in Enfield

A career which gives back to the community, knowing that you have played an integral role in aiding and developing the learning of a young individual and imparting them with the wisdom and skills which will prepare them for the remainder of their education and the rest of their lives is something I have always wanted to pursue.

Mathematics itself is an extremely divisive subject, with many seemingly afraid of it, but I have always seemed to derive pleasure from it from a very young age, regardless of how complicated a question may present itself. Being a Mathematics teacher has given me the opportunity to remain in a field I am genuinely passionate about and love. It would enable me to help young promising individuals share the same passion and hopefully get rid of the myth that mathematics is indeed a subject to be afraid of. Having obtained a BSc honours in Mathematics, as well as a PGCE in Mathematics and a QTS is evidence of my ability to teach the standard of syllabus, that I currently am required to teach.

Tutoring Experience

I am a secondary school Maths teacher based at a comprehensive secondary school in inner London, with a wealth of experience having worked at numerous schools and have been offering private tuition, which gives me first-hand knowledge of the syllabus and the required skills needed obtain the highest marks possible.

I currently tutor age groups of Primary, Secondary (KS3 up till GCSE) and at A Levels.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring will be tailored according to that individual, with the aim being to address any gaps the student may have in their knowledge, which is subsequently holding them back from progressing to that next stage.

To ensure consistency and progress, I would be shadowing the scheme of learning your child would be following in school. This would ensure that your child is keeping pace (and going ahead if possible) with their respective maths class in school. Topics would be modelled with a focus on identifying and addressing any areas of weaknesses. After modelling a topic, students will then be given a chance to tackle a few examples to check whether or not they have understood the problem at hand. This is also to ensure that, the student develops a certain level of independence. At the end of every topic, students will be given end of topic tests to test their progress, as well as ensuring that they are exposed to exam questions from very early on, to refine their exam technique.
