Esme

Hi I’m Esme, an undergraduate student of English Literature at the University of York, who will provide a nurturing environment to aid students in their study of English. I enjoy supporting and working with students of all ages and hope to pursue a career in teaching. As Head Girl I ran study groups, workshops & assemblies. I received Anti-bullying ambassador training from the Diana Award. I will support students in their academic journey through imparting the tips and tricks of working through the English Education System.

Tutoring Experience

I achieved 3 A* at A-Level and I have experience tutoring one-to-one privately and as part of a mentoring programme whilst in Sixth Form.
I tutor KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level English, providing study tips to boost confidence and grades. I offer a free 15 minute first meeting with parents and students, to get to know one another and then £15 per hour.

Tutoring Approach

I welcome questions, debate and open, honest discussion. My focus is to support student’s needs with frequent feedback in regard to subject matter and the pace of sessions. Students will be provided with the opportunity to guide their own study, through suggesting their weaker areas, to develop self directed study skills. The supportive learning environment I will provide will improve students ability to self motivate, manage workload and revise as well as enhanced subject understanding.
