I have been teaching English (KS 2,3,4), GCSE, English Language, English Literature, ESOL, Adult Literacy and Functional skills English for over 25 years now. I have been a personal tutor to individual students including undergraduates by providing them help with their personal statements, proof reading their work, offering support for their essays, dissertations, exams and course work.
I have led workshops across London mentoring students on exam skills and how to pass exams.
I have a lot of experience working with students who have challenging behaviour and SEN (Special Education Needs).
Over the years, I have had several hands on experience and success rates as a lecturer / teacher; facilitating training at several work places like BHS, Next, Argos, Primark, H.Samuel, etc for adults and young adults who wanted to gain a qualification in English such as Adult Literacy Levels 1 and 2 (as they left school with little or no qualifications especially in English).
My experience as a Sats and GCSE examiner enables me to give good valuable exam tips and to teach tutees on what examiners look for in an exam.
In addition to these, as a qualified SENDCo, I have extensive experience teaching/tutoring students with Special Education Needs (SEN).
I offer tailored and easy to follow lessons to match the needs of each student. My lessons are student focused and relaxed with the drive to succeed and achieve.
I know different people learn in different ways and with this in mind, I offer a diagnostic assessment for secondary school age and above. This helps to identify the learning style and type of learner each person I teach is on the first visit and from this assessment a graph is plotted to show the best way each person learns and the learning materials are designed to meet each personal learning style.
