I am a qualified primary school teacher with a young family- I have 2 children who are primary aged so understand primary school from both an educational and parental background.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience of teaching pupils from 5-11 years old. I currently teach Year 6 and am also a qualified school led tutor and currently tutor maths and English in a local primary school. In addition, I’m a qualified and experienced SATs market and have marked Key Stags 2 grammar, punctuation and spelling papers for the last 5 years.

Tutoring Approach

I love learning and my main goal is to make my pupils have the same passion for learning as I do, this is usually done through associating learning with their interests and not to be sat at a table constantly with a book in front of them. New concepts need to explored to allow for understanding to be embedded. Through frequent short bursts on repetitive exercises learning becomes embedded in long term memory. My primary aim is to identify individual pupils strengths and capitalise on these to allow us to target on gaps in learning; every child is different therefore each child will have their own personalised learning plan that will be adapted and edited as needed.
