I am a qualified teacher and I am coming to the end of my third and final year at the University of Chester. I love reading, sewing, baking and all things creative! I believe that every child should have the opportunity to thrive and succeed in education, no matter their background or ability.
I have taught at three primary schools and an SEND high school, teaching children aged 4-18. I plan and teach high quality lessons across the curriculum that meets the needs of the child as an individual. I am the lead teacher at a foreign language holiday club where I teach a group of 10-30 children French or Spanish. I also plan fun and engaging activities based around the learning to ensure memorable teaching. I have an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding certificate.
I adopt a positive and proactive approach to teaching and take pride in my professional abilities. I have learnt the importance of effective planning and the need to be flexible with regard to teaching and learning and the need to be dynamic and responsive with regard to the day-to-day needs of the child. In my planning, I consider barriers to learning and how I am able to make reasonable adjustments so each child is able to access the learning. I believe that each child is unique and their teaching should be too. Children learn in different ways, education is not one size fits all. When teaching, I make it a priority to get to know the child as an individual and plan my teaching to fit their needs and learning style.
