Emily

I am a qualified medical doctor who has worked in the NHS for 5 years and is looking to move into other fields. I have tutored and mentored students on and off since 2015 and am now hoping to move into it full time. I have mostly delivered sessions in maths and science but also have experience in 11+ and 13+ exams and university applications. I feel that my lessons are fun and engaging and I prefer teaching core principles
and fundamentals which students can then apply rather than rote learning. I am currently completing the graduate skills in counselling course at Salford University and hope to become a fully qualified
psychotherapist/counsellor in a few years. My other interests include yoga, wild swimming, writing
creatively, art and playing the piano.

Tutoring Experience

10 years tutoring and mentoring experience, having delivered over 500 hours of lessons. I’ve done multiple residential jobs both in the uk and abroad and have tutored students for elite institutions such as Eton, Harrow and UCS. I’m currently tutoring full time so the content is all really fresh!

Tutoring Approach

I love teaching fundamentals and helping students understand core principles which they can then apply in their exams. I believe that the most important thing in helping students learn is in developing a good relationship with them, which I have lots of experience at through my work as a doctor!
