Online Chemistry and Biology Lessons

Hi, my name is Eman. I work as a biology and chemistry teacher, as well as an examiner for the NCUK International Foundation Year (Medicine and Health Professions programme& Science and Engineering programme) in London, that is equivalent to A Levels and IB in 9 months, instead of 2 years.

I hold a PhD in Cell/Molecular Biology (certificates available upon request).
I have 10 years of full-time experience teaching Biology and Chemistry for further education and higher education in the UK. I also take pride in being one of the founders of the medical and professional program designed for international students under NCUK in London.

I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education, Oxford Brookes University (Distinction) (certificates available on request). I have achieved the status of fellow of the Higher Education Academy in recognition of attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education (Recognition reference: PR153395. Date of Recognition: 20/09/2018).
- Fully DBS checked (certificates available on request) and also up-to-date with all required government safeguarding training.
-Discounts are available for group sessions.
I enjoy tutoring as it is immensely rewarding to see students achieve a thorough understanding of the theory and then apply their knowledge to answering questions.
Availability: flexible. Happy to adjust to your needs.

Tutoring Experience

I have been working as a biology and chemistry teacher for the NCUK International Foundation Year/ equivalent to A Levels (Medicine and Health Professions programme& Science and Engineering programme. I have also taught privately biology for GCSE students.

I have worked as a post-doctoral research assistant at Oxford Brookes University and Queen Mary university of London. I taught Cardiovascular and respiratory CR1, Metabolism and LOCOMOTOR (for first year medical students) and Human Development (for second year medical students).
During my Master's, PhD and Post-doctoral research assistant work (14 years), I was supervising and training PhD students, Master's students, undergraduate project students and acting as a demonstrator for undergraduate labs in the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences, Oxford Brookes University (courses demonstrated: Infection, Immunity and Immunology, Chemistry of cells, Skills for Life Scientists).
Due to the nature of my research, I have a good working knowledge of various laboratory equipment, e.g. analytical balances, pH meters, centrifuges and Ultra-centrifuges, Nanodrop spectrophotometer and microscopy (light and fluorescence microscopy, wide field and confocal laser scanning microscopy).

Tutoring Approach

I rapidly cultivate favourable connections with my students, enabling me to customize my strategies to suit the specific requirements of each person.
I build confidence within in my students and ensure they feel comfortable to ask questions in order to ensure their success. I always tell my students, 'There are no silly questions. The only silly questions are the ones you have but don't ask.’
Having fulfilled the role of an examiner for biology and chemistry, I have gained valuable insights into students' errors and a comprehensive grasp of how marking schemes function.
I know exactly what students must learn, in the right order, with the right techniques to master Biology/ chemistry lessons. I always establish connections between different lessons while teaching biology and chemistry. Additionally, I relate the lessons to students' lives. As a result, it becomes easier for students to comprehend the material, and the information becomes ingrained in their long-lasting memories.

I help my students to
-Be familiar with the language of the exams.
-Be able to recognise what to do for exam questions before pen hits the paper
-Help them in applying their knowledge to align with the expectations outlined in mark schemes.
-Help them writing a A* laboratory report.
-Get a better predicted grade in Biology/ chemistry for their UCAS applications
-Have a routine & structure in the week to stay organised & focused.
-Get them into their top choice Uni
Best of all, the student can achieve all of that without:
Spending hours watching videos
Spending too much on simple questions from automated video courses
Writing notes all day without understanding
Trying to decode the mark schemes
Memorising past exam questions hoping
