My name is Elyas, and I'm currently on a gap year, looking to study Economics next year at University. I was schooled at Westminster School, achieving 11 A*s at GCSE, and 2A's and 2B's at A-Level. My AS grades were 4 As, and due to a prolonged absence last year, I'll be resitting several A2 exams, aiming for A*s. This makes me rather aware of the different paces, styles, and methods by which people learn best, as I have tried and tested them almost all to arrive at the methods I believe work best. My focuses are on Modern Languages, having done French to A-Level standard, Italian and Spanish to GCSE standard, and being fluent in English, German and Farsi. Furthermore, I'd consider my personal strengths to be Economics, Maths and History, in which I not only recently completed my A-Levels, but have also delved into extensively for research work in the past year.
I have had considerable success at 11+ and 13+ entrance exam tutoring, having secured all my 5 tutees places at their first choice schools, all ranked within the top 50 in the country. I have also helped several friends and contacts, admittedly on a more colloquial basis, with GCSE/IGCSE and AS-Level tutoring, all of whom ultimately achieved A* and A grades respectively.
Personally, I'm a very patient person, and more importantly, I pride myself with being able to quickly adapt to other peoples' needs, which involved tailoring methods and exercises to individual's abilities and ways of understanding. I believe that the key to academic success and progress is understanding, which is why I always place the most importance upon my "tutees" first understanding what's going on and why, be it in any subject, before the topic/issue is resolved with practice and discussion until it becomes second nature. The latter I also believe to be instrumental, as openly and confidently discussing a subject is generally a foolproof sign of sound, in-depth knowledge of a topic
