Elyas

Maths and English Lessons in Forest Hill

I'm a 29-year old, dynamic tutor with extensive experience teaching across age groups and subjects.

I was born in Germany, moving to London at the age of eight, and completed my schooling, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees here. I've worked professionally in Berlin and London, with most of my career having been spent in finance. Previously, I tutored for over 4 years, primarily throughout my degree courses.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 600 hours of experience across 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, Maths GCSE and A-Level, History GCSE, Economics A-Level and German GCSE and Pre-U.

I have helped past tutees secure places at some of the most competitive schools, including St. Paul's Girls' School, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and Tiffin. At GCSE and above, I helped students improve by multiple grades across the board to reach their targets (almost exclusively 8s and 9s/As and A*s). Additionally, I helped students with securing places to top-choice universities.

Tutoring Approach

I firmly believe in tailoring lesson plans to each pupil's current levels, the desired goals and learning processes. Individual lessons should balance a structured approach to achieving long-term targets and a flexible, didactic approach which engages and stokes a pupil's own curiosity on the subject.

Additionally, I've had extensive experience with SEN teaching and accommodations, as well as teaching vulnerable children.
