Ellamae

I am a Year 1 teacher in London with a year of teaching experience and 5 years experience working in schools. I am starting my fifth year at my school and I love the challenges and rewards of the teaching profession. Since moving to London I have loved immersing myself in the city and spend my spare time exercising and finding new places to eat. I grew up in the countryside so I do enjoy escaping there for the weekends. Outside of teaching I am currently training for my first marathon with 2 lined up, one being the London marathon which I am really excited for!

Tutoring Experience

I have 1 year experience as the year 1 class teacher as well as 4 additional years being a TA and I am excited to adopt an additional role this year as the schools Humanities coordinator as well as year 1 class teacher. I have experience teaching year 1 all the way to year 6 and love the variety of each year groups curriculum.

Tutoring Approach

I have a fun approach to learning and know that if someone is enjoying what they are doing then the learning is much more likely to make sense and aid the child’s development and understand. I love building rapport with children and think this is the key foundation to learning. Once a strong foundation and trust is build I enjoy a varied learning approach and am flexible and understanding that every child is unique and has their own way of learning that suits them best.
