Online Maths and Physics Tutor

I am a first-class Integrated Masters graduate in Natural Sciences from the University of Leeds, and a GCSE Science & Mathematics tutor with the Tutor Trust. At university, my disciplines were Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics - I chose to do a multidisciplinary course because the boundaries between the sciences is what interests me most. Understanding the same concept from the lenses of different subjects was absolutely fascinating! I have always loved education, learning, and sharing my knowledge, which I do with enthusiasm as a GCSE tutor with the Tutor Trust.

I'm an empathetic, communicative, and driven individual with a strong academic record, and I'm committed to helping pupils to succeed. I provide online tutoring and I am flexible in terms of availability.

Tutoring Experience

I have 3 months of experience tutoring GCSE Mathematics online for Action Tutoring during the pandemic. Recently, I started a role as a GCSE Science & Mathematics tutor for the Tutor Trust, where I tutor pupils in schools around Greater Manchester. I am also currently completing a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

At university, I was a Peer Assisted Learning mentor for first year Chemistry and Maths students, as well as a Subject Representative for interdisciplinary Maths students. As an A-level student, I was a peer mentor, tutoring a GCSE student in Chemistry.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is methodical, thorough, and sensitive to the pupil's needs. I first identify the pupil's starting point and work from there - there is no 'one size fits all' approach. I largely follow the curriculum but if there are core skill areas that the pupil needs more support with, I will devote extra time to that area. I find a pace that is both challenging enough to be interesting to the pupil, and supportive for their confidence.
