Online English and Chemistry Tuition

I am currently on a gap year having completed A Levels last year at Cherwell School Sixth Form in Oxford. I achieved 9 9s at GCSE and 3 A*s at A Level. Next year, I shall be reading History of Art at Oxford university.

I am warm, approachable and patient. I strive to enable students to reach their potential.

I have a valid DBS and have completed the Youth Mental Health First Aid Course in addition to the EtonX Resilience Course.

Tutoring Experience

Throughout A Levels, I supported friends in all three of my subjects in terms of understanding content, making revision materials and learning said material. The step up from GCSE to A Level can feel exceptionally overwhelming but my approach is to make them feel more accessible (and even fun).

Recently, I have become a Learning Mentor at Cherwell School Sixth Form having had training in the best ways to approach teaching; I find this job extremely rewarding in terms of working with the students and actively noticing improvements.

Through being a Year 7 tutor and Arts Editor for the inaugural academic school journal during my time at Sixth Form, I have experienced working with younger students. Moreover, during secondary school, I participated in a Reading Buddy programme where I worked with students who struggled with reading, helping them to grow in confidence.

Alongside study, my passions include reading, writing, running and watching cricket.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to help and encourage students to understand, learn and apply their knowledge at their own pace in their own way. This may be through working on difficult content, exam technique and/or study skills in order to improve in the classroom setting and in exams.

My approach is very much student-led. I begin by asking the student what they are finding difficult and then tailor my approach accordingly.
