Hi! I am an experienced UK trained maths teacher currently living in Penang, Malaysia. I am soon leaving full time teaching to have a baby and would like to continue teaching in an online tuition capacity. I am passionate about both teaching and maths and am very much looking forward to sharing my enthusiasm and expertise with you!

Tutoring Experience

I have taught Mathematics to Secondary school students for the past 12 years both in the UK and Malaysia. I have vast experience of KS3, GCSE and IGCSE Maths, Statistics and Further Maths and A Level Mathematics and Further Maths. I have taught both Edexcel and CIE syllabi and have been an examiner for Edexcel and a certified teacher trainer for CIE. I have worked as Head of a successful Mathematics department in Cornwall and Penang and am currently Head of Staff Development in charge of improving teaching and learning across the school. In addition to this, I have tutored throughout my career both one-to-one and online with enormous success.

Tutoring Approach

I am a firm believer in Active Learning and like to use investigations, problem solving and games to enable students to discover concepts for themselves whenever possible. I believe this enables a deeper form of learning and gives better preparation for both exams and life after education. The additional skills my students learn include logic and methodical thinking, confidence, communication and a genuine love of mathematics.
