I have a passion for nature and a love for teaching all levels, from school to university. I am excited to help you grow your knowledge and skills in geography!

I have taken my own learning to the extreme:

• with a PhD in geography focusing on ecology and nature conservation
• working as an ecological and environmental consultant for 10 years for a global design and engineering firm based in London
• traveling all over the world with my work, communicating with all different types of people.

As a mum of two, I am very keen to help school pupils as well as degree level students. I can assist with GCSEs, A Levels and degrees, and everything else in between.

My expertise spans an array of topics under the geography umbrella including physical geography, human geography, ecology, aquatic ecology, hydrology, environmental science, nature conservation, to name but a few! If you need help with anything else though just ask as it’s likely I have knowledge in that area. I can also help with general topics including essay writing, coursework, exam preparation, proof reading, UCAS and job applications.

Tutoring Experience

I have 15 years of teaching experience, including:

• as a private tutor
• tutoring graduate and post-graduate students at UCL
• coaching and mentoring fellow consultants at a global design and engineering company
• organising and conducting lectures and workshops for graduate and post graduate students at universities including UCL, Plymouth and Greenwich
• successfully supporting colleagues and students who were struggling with aspects of their work.

Tutoring Approach

My sessions will be tailored to suit your needs but will likely:

• start with a conversation to understand the learning needs, level of understanding of the subject or topic in question, plus some goal setting
• move into the fun part where subject material will be taught and knowledge embedded via regular focused learning tasks that will be completed either during or in between sessions
• multiple opportunities to go back over material will be provided as the sessions progress
• once goals have been achieved, there will be the opportunity to self assess and reflect with the aim of ensuring the new skills and knowledge gained are are taken forwards into the future.
