Firstly, being half-Spanish, I have a natural way of speaking the language. I have also have many contacts from central America, therefore I have been exposed to different varieties of Spanish, not just the standard form, and thus have a deeper insight into the mechanics of the language and the vocabulary used in different contexts. As for French, I have been learning it for 9 years now, roughly half my lifetime, and so have a concrete foundation of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. I am currently about to enter my third year at the University of Durham, and have taken up Russian, for which I have now reached an intermediate level within just a matter of months. In addition to this, I am have plenty of experience tutoring English and History.

Tutoring Experience

I have previously tutored GCSE Y10 and Y11 students at Bishop Vesey's Grammar School for 2 years. I have had experience in tutoring people of all different ages, therefore I am prepared to teach anybody who needs to achieve a good grade in their exams, or whether you are just a casual learner who wants to learn a language as a hobby.

Tutoring Approach

I will be willing to provide a wide variety of resources that target a plethora of nuanced skills, from grammar, vocabulary and sophisticated idiomatic phrases that will boost your reading and writing skills and appeal to examiners. In addition, I will be willing to also help you with speaking French and Spanish to boost communication skills in preparation for contact with natives themselves. I feel really strongly about getting minds out the textbooks and having students apply their knowledge in a practical sense, especially important if any of you are considering future careers abroad or who will need to communicate in the target language(s) as part of a job. My knowledge of the different types of Spanish and dialects of the languages also means I will be able to get students to engage in all formats of the target language, by exposing them to a range of authentic articles, reading materials and podcasts to boost their fluency and get them as fully immersed as possible so that they are, once again, ready to enter the real world of needing to communicate with natives.
