I have a 2:1 BA Hons in Drama and A Levels in English, sociology and theatre studies. I have extensive 1:1 experience of KS1, 2 and 3 maths and English. I am a mum to a 3 boys and a girl. I enjoy time with my family and exercise, especially swimming.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced and compassionate educator with a strong background in both one-to-one tutoring and classroom support across mainstream and special education settings.
My work has been driven by a deep commitment to helping all children access learning, regardless of their individual needs or challenges.
My experience in mainstream schools has given me insight into differentiated teaching within diverse classrooms, while my work in specialist provisions has deepened my understanding of complex needs and the importance of structured, nurturing environments.
I am skilled in implementing individual education plans (IEPs), using visual supports, adapting communication strategies, and promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour through consistent, respectful interactions.

Tutoring Approach

Over the years, I have developed a versatile and empathetic approach that allows me to support pupils with a wide range of educational and behavioural needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), social and emotional difficulties, and English as an Additional Language (EAL).

As a one-to-one tutor, I have delivered tailored sessions that build on each child's unique strengths, focusing not only on academic progress but also on confidence, engagement, and independence.

I have worked closely with families, classroom teachers, and support teams to ensure continuity and personalised support that reflects each learner’s goals. Whether preparing a child for a transition, boosting their numeracy and literacy, or managing barriers to learning, I approach each session with patience, creativity, and high expectations.

At the heart of my practice is a belief in the potential of every child. I build trusting relationships quickly, value children's voices, and maintain a calm, consistent presence even in challenging situations.
My ability to differentiate my explanations are a key strength.
I have built up many teaching tools and resources during my time as a cover teacher; as this is an environment that requires dynamism to engage students with their learning.
I am very patient and take care to ensure understanding is scaffolded to maximise achievement.
