Expertise in English & Psychology, all exam boards covered GCSE; iGCSE: A level & international A level. I tutor students studying IB, and I help with preparation of University 'Personal Statements'. I have over 30 years of teaching experience, ensuring elite & expert tutoring. Once again my students' results in 2023 were outstanding across the board.

I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS) and have taught nationwide in the UK for over thirty years in various posts, including the role of Head of English, and Whole School Literacy Coordinator, mainly in high schools (11-18), but I also have experience of teaching in the primary sector and colleges of further education. I have a record of students gaining top results, and am an expert in my subject areas of Entrance Exams (100% pass rate ); English Language GCSE; English Literature GCSE; A level English Literature; A level English Language; A level English Language & Literature combined; Linguistics, Creative Writing, Psychology & Drama. I have many years experience as an examiner of GCSE English Literature and I have examined A level English Language, and KS3 SATs when they were in operation. I teach English and Psychology at all levels, ages 5 to 105, including 11+ / Grammar School Entrance Exams ; ESL; GCSE / A level & Degree level. I achieved GBC with my MSc allowing me membership of The British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also a qualified TEFL teacher ( Teaching English as a Foreign Language - 120 Hours cert. ). I currently teach students worldwide online, of all ages, and ability in all subjects offered. Having successfully home schooled my son from age 7 to 16, including IGCSEs in English Language, Literature, Maths, Geography, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, I am fully versed in home schooling requirements, and welcome home schooled students. I also offer tuition to two / small groups of students if required.

Tutoring Experience

I have had a varied and most enjoyable career to date. I use my expertise and experience of over twenty five years, which has given me a very strong platform from which to teach, to maximise the potential of every student. I believe learning should be fun, and am passionate about helping students to achieve the highest level, whilst allowing a true appreciation of their chosen subject. I use an individualised and innovative approach, often exploiting my Drama skills to allow all learning styles to be accommodated. My students have always achieved their predicted grades, with many exceeding expectation. An A level English Language student of mine once achieved the highest mark in the UK on one particular paper of her chosen exam board. I find online tuition extremely effective, as it allows a relaxed and safe environment providing the ideal learning experience.
