I'm a qualified teacher with an Honours Degree, PGCE and over 15 years of teaching experience from primary to college age. I am a friendly and open minded person , with a good sense of humour. I am flexible in my approach to teaching, and can adapt to suit the different learning styles of every tutee.
Tuition has provided me with the wonderful opportunity to look after my two young children, as well as managing my own business. I can honestly say that, 'I love my job!'.

Tutoring Experience

I started my career as a College Lecturer of English and Drama, where I taught a variety of mainstream students, students with special educational needs and adult learners. I have extensive experience in teaching students with dyslexia, ASD, ADHD and multiple learning difficulties.
My last teaching role was working in a main stream school, where I was employed by Surrey County Council as a specialist teacher. This involved creating a diverse curriculum that was delivered to KS2 students, who struggled with Literacy and Numeracy.
I have been a home tutor for the past 8 years and this is now my main job. The majority of my client base are students who need extra support with their SATs, GCSEs, entrance exam preparation and exam technique.

Tutoring Approach

I am a patient, encouraging and humanistic teacher, dedicated to helping students achieve their aim. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, and I hope to enhance the tutees learning experience by building a positive relationship. I am a dynamic teacher who is creative in my approach to teaching. Above all, my aim is to instill confidence and create an environment where the tutee feels comfortable in expressing themselves, not worry about making mistakes, and enjoy learning.
I have a range of high quality resources that I use in all of my lessons.
So far I have watched many of my students build in confidence, and go on to get great results.
