I have a degree in Geography from Oxford University. I also have a Masters degree from the London School of Economics, and a PhD from Sheffield University. Since then, I have used my geography knowledge by working for local councils and charities!
I am an experienced academic tutor, who has been tutoring for around eight years. In the past, I have frequently worked to help young people prepare for GCSE and A-Level Geography exams. As part of this preparation, I have worked with the young people to improve both their knowledge of the subject and their exam and essay technique.
As well as my past experience as a tutor, I have also taught undergraduate seminars at Sheffield University while a PhD student, worked as a teaching assistant in a secondary school in Oxfordshire, and marked GCSE Geography exam papers for OCR.
My approach to tutoring depends on the individual needs of each young person. After our first session, I will be able to develop a plan for future sessions based upon the specific requirements of each student. This plan would aim to combine work to improve subject content, exam technique, and revision skills. All my sessions aim to be enjoyable and interactive in order for the student to better understand and remember the material.
I'm a specialist geography tutor, who focuses on delivering tuition in one subject to a very high level. This means you can always count on me to have a great knowledge of the subject, and to be up to date with any changes to the syllabus or exam specifications.
