Online Physics and Chemistry Teacher

Hello!

I have been a teacher in the West Midlands for 5 years. During this time I have taught pupils across all year groups from year 7-12. Currently I am the Deputy Head of science for my school where I co- lead on the design and implementation of the science curriculum. I have experience teaching the GCSE combined and triple science, to high and low prior attainers. Furthermore, I have taught pupils with a wide range of educational needs from MLD to autism, all pupils regardless of need and ability are welcome. My passion is to make science as interesting and engaging for the learner, to access their strengths and weakness and push them towards mastery,

Tutoring Experience

Over my 5 year teaching career I have taught KS3 years 7 and 9.

I have three years experience teaching year 11 both GCSE combine and triple science.

Two years experience teaching Biology A-level (AQA)

Currently I work as the deputy head of science.

Tutoring Approach

  • Direct and explicit teaching of content

  • Picking the best resources to support learning

- Teaching/ modelling with lots of opportunities for pupils to make sense of new information. This included short writing tasks, quizzes or exam questions
- Independent practise 5-10 minutes end of session activity to consolidate learning and identify any misconceptions
- Feedback on task with actionable next steps
