Online English and Chemistry Lessons

I finished my 3rd year of medical school at Stanford in June 2019, and am currently a Gates-Cambridge Scholar at Cambridge pursuing a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences. I am doing field work in Colombia at the moment, carrying out a pilot study on new guideline recommendations for treatment of severe traumatic brain injury in developing countries.

Tutoring Experience

I tutored Chemistry and Biology at Williams from 2012-2015 and from 2014-2015 I oversaw the tutoring program for all subjects. I spent one year intensively coaching a Princeton University graduate who decided she wanted to go to medical school. She decided late and had to pursue a post-baccalaureate degree to complete the required courses. I tutored her in all required courses and helped her prepare for the MCAT and her medical school application. She aced her courses, scored above the 90th percentile on the MCAT and is now a medical student at a top 10 medical school in the US.

Tutoring Approach

I identify weak areas and allow the brain to strengthen neural pathways through spaced-repetition. I coach critical thinking, study strategies, research strategies, help each student feel confident that they can learn ANYTHING given the tools in their toolbox. I DO NOT just give the student information, let them take notes and carry on with a flood of additional information. I live strongly in "teaching the man to fish" in contrast to "giving the man a fish."
