I am a teacher first and foremost.I love teaching. I love tutoring. I have prepared children for key stage 1 SATS, starting as early as Year 1, key stage 2 SATS and 11+ successfully. I focus on the needs of the child aiming to build confidence. I specialise in 1 to 1. I am patient, calm and understanding. I can help your child be the best they can be. I am currently working with a Year 3 class. I have experience of key stage 2 SATs. I also have experience of the 11+. I have successfully tutored students into the school of their choice. I can help prepare your child for the private schools or Greater depth. Let me help your child make noticeable progress in school. I can plug those gaps and accelerate progress.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience of key stage 1 and 2 SATs. I also have experience of the 11+. I am lucky enough to have worked from Reception through to Year 9 and have come to realise that if the foundations of a child's learning are not secure they struggle all the way through schooling. This often manifests in poor behaviour in school. Secure that foundation and the child develops in confidence and ability.

Tutoring Approach

Confidence building is where I start. I show the child what they can do and work from there, a little at a time. Depending on age and ability, intervals of learning broken up with consolidation activities, games or short brain breaks. I am calm, patient and encouraging. I always carry out tests in order to establish a baseline. This is later used to show the child the progress they have made. This works as a confidence booster.
