Hi, I'm Deven! I am a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a degree in Maths and Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE). I am passionate about teaching and sharing my knowledge to help students of all abilities to reach their full potential. 

I believe everyone can succeed in Maths with the right help and support. I will help you boost confidence and increase enjoyment of the subject, simplifying concepts as much as possible through a step-by-step approach. 

I grew up close to London, and have a passion for film, science, music and travel.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience tutoring Maths at KS3 and GCSE levels, mainly to children of family friends, and through word of mouth recommendations. 

Through my own experience of studying and undertaking exams, I have developed various effective studying techniques which I share with my students. 

Tutoring Approach

My enthusiastic, caring and approachable personality allows my students to see me not only as their tutor, but as a role model and someone who will take a genuine interest in their learning and progress.

I tailor all tutoring sessions based on ability and age, catering to individual student needs, and aim to making learning enjoyable.

I listen carefully and encourage students to ask questions throughout each session. This enables us to identify gaps in knowledge together and focus on these areas to improve understanding, revisiting concepts from a different angle if required. 

Sessions usually include a combination of:
- Discussion of objectives and topics to be covered- Teaching new material or recapping any problem areas
- Working through practice exam questions
- Regular feedback on how students are progressing, highlighting areas for further development- Providing and working through homework questions

I am also happy to receive questions from students outside of tuition time to provide help with homework and revision techniques.
