Hi, I'm Demetris and I graduated in 2009 with a BA (Honours) Degree in English Language/ Literature from Brunel University. Being driven, passionate and ambitious with high standards of all my students and fellow colleagues ensured I made rapid progress in my teaching career. I became Head of Department within 2 years and then a Head of Year and finally an Assistant Principal (which I have now been for the last 4 years leading English). I've consistently been graded 'Outstanding' by OFSTED for teaching and GCSE/ A-Level results are always well above National.

My students' education is imperative as is a thirst for knowledge and inspiring/supporting our students to achieve the best possible results will ensure they have opportunities to become successful in the future. Key Stage 4 and 5 are my areas of expertise and I've always motivated students to be passionate for English through a range of engaging and effective teaching strategies.

Tutoring Experience

I have an outstanding track record of English Language and Literature results both at GCSE and A Level. I specialize in making rapid progress with all types of learners to ensure they achieve the best possible grades. I've tutored a range of students over the last 13 years and every student has achieved their desired English Language/ Literature grades. Often, the target for the individual student is a minimum of 2 levels of progress and as a team along with hard work, patience and self -belief we have always been successful. Whether it is grammar, poetry, prose, reading, drama, essay practice, or writing, I will ensure not only that your confidence in the subject improves, but that your skills strengthen and your ability to enhance your overall understanding develops at an extremely fast rate.

Tutoring Approach

Depending on the students' strengths and areas for development we will aim to make rapid progress each lesson through a range of differentiated teaching strategies that are designed to enhance the students' learning. Live modelling and demonstrations will allow the student to thrive on the knowledge and skills taught throughout the sequenced lessons. We will always consolidate what we've learnt and targeted homework will be set for the student to complete for the following week.
