I am a fully qualified teacher with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Modern Languages and English as a second language.
I tutor English as a Foreign Language at all levels, including advanced and business English. I tutor on a one-to-one basis. I also teach small groups of up to five students online.
I am good at confidence building and helping with motivation and am a very enthusiastic tutor.
Recently I have returned to teaching and tutoring after working as a journalist in busy newsrooms and on magazines for many years. Nothing can beat the satisfaction of helping a student to believe in themselves and seeing their confidence grow as they gradually "get it" and the all light bulbs turn on.
My experience includes teaching and leading activities at EFL schools in England. I also taught English and French for five years in secondary schools in England.
For the past four years I have been teaching EFL online - on a one-to-one basis and also to small groups of students from all over the world.
I believe all students are capable of succeeding. It is my firm belief that with focus, determination and self belief you can reach and exceed your aspirations.
Lessons vary depending on your level, but they are all enjoyable and very educational!
Sessions are fun and focus on improving your pronunciation, your speaking flow and your comprehension. I also show you ways to extend your vocabulary.
I can help you to read, understand and evaluate a wide range of texts. You will also learn how to improve your writing skills, so that you write effectively and coherently using Standard English appropriately.
We can also work on your use of grammar and spelling and work to enrich and extend your vocabulary.
All tutorial sessions are planned around the individual needs of each student so please do send me a message and I look forward to meeting you soon.
