Tutoring Experience

For the last four yearsI have been tutoring GCSE (Mathematics & the Sciences), Functional Skills Mathematics in private and alternate provision situations. Prior academic experience would include my scientific research, at the University of Cambridge [3 years as a post-doctoral student including a 1-year research fellowship at the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics (USA), and then 8 years as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant].

Tutoring Approach

I prefer one-to-one sessions where I can focus on the individual needs of the student. This will mean guidance in the syllabus of the subject they are studying, but just as importantly positively supporting their curiosity, confidence and approach to science and mathematics.
