Hello! My name is David, I am an 18 year old student who is very passionate about maths and hoping to start my university studies in mathematics in October of 2022. I am currently doing a gap year, and spending a lot of my time tutoring. Having confidently gone through the entire IB Math AA HL syllabus, I can offer guidance to middle and high school students of different skill levels; whether you are looking to just solidify your understanding of concepts or want to learn some interesting maths outside the syllabus, I can help with both! I can teach IB Math AA and AI HL, A-level math and further math, and everything leading up to those. I am fluent in English, Russian, and French.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring middle school students and high school students on a regular basis since 2019, teaching maths from a year 9 level up until some concepts from first year maths, with everything in between included. I have gone through the IB Mathematics AA HL program, so I have more experience with IB than A-level, but I know the program specifications of both well, and have taught up to the level of A-level further maths. I have also been running a maths youtube channel, explaining basic concepts in intuitive ways.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach focuses on understanding, rather than memorization; being myself a visual learner, I have found that illustrating obscure algebraic concepts through geometric or visual proofs often helps students gain a more intuitive understanding of the material. I try to focus on letting the student build an intuition for the concepts by combining easy, understandable, visual proofs with interesting and rigorous exercises.
