'm a highly motivated and adaptable person. I have a natural affinity with children and adults alike and derive an immense pleasure in aiding people to achieve their potential, both academically and in life. Helping others comes naturally to me and I enjoy putting these skills into practice.
I have a BA(Hons) Degree in History and Politics from the University of Sunderland and a PGCE from the University of Greenwich.
I have over six years teaching experience and have worked in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex and Greater London.I am currently course team leader for A level History and General Studies at an Further Education College and I also teach English and Sociology. Prior to my current position I worked in Newham for two secondary schools doing One to One English Tuition. I also worked as a History, English and Geography Teacher in Hertfordshire. I have also marked GCSE and AS History exam papers for the Edexcel exam board for the last four years. In terms of my private tuition I have experience of teaching a wide range of learners in subjects such as English, History and Geography.
I recieved an excellent Ofstead report on my teaching last year and recieved outstanding feedback reports from two Local Education Autorities for my English One to One Tuition in two schools in Newham and one in Redbridge. My last internal observation result in my current position was a grade one.
I believe that every learner is an individual with different strong points and areas for improvement. I encourage the learner to build on their existing knowledge of the subject and use a variety of methods to install confidence, curiosity and initiative. I use imaginative and relevant resources and have a warm and friendly style of teaching.
